DIPOLOG CITY, APR. 20(PIA)---In its continuing effort to alleviate the plight of its people, the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte through the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office has extended Php985,000.00 worth of assistance the needy residents of the province during the month of March.
The monthly report submitted by the PSWDO to the Office of the Provincial Governor revealed that the office has to 608 individuals coming from the different municipalities of the province, including residents of Dipolog and Dapitan City have gone to the office for assistance.
Among the assistance extended by the office include financial assistance, rice, noodles, sardines, sugar, and even supplemental commodities to under-nourished children.
The PSWDO has also given financial assistance to 502 individuals for the burial of their loved-ones and other related-activities, crutches to one person with disability and school supplies to 87 Grade V and Grade VI pupils throughout the province.
It also provided support to various activities participated in by the members of the Youth Enhancement Support (YES) in the municipality of Sindangan and the tribal assembly in Jose Dalman, the Skills Training in Sergio Osmeña and the Consultative Assembly conducted in Barangay Panampalay, Roxas, Zamboanga del Norte and many others.(ATR/PIA9-Zambo Norte)
