ISABELA CITY, Basilan, Feb 27 (PIA) – Student-Officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Command and General Staff Course Class-55 (AFPCGSC CL-55) visited and conducted Joint and Combined Phase’s Immersion at Headquarters Western Command (WESCOM), Camp General Artemio Ricarte Puerto Princesa City, recently.
In a press release, the 6th Civil Relations Group said the AFPCGSC CL-55 was composed of 20 students, 2 directing staffs and 1 support personnel. The student-officers are from the major services, technical and administrative services and the AFP reserve command.
The class’ activity held last February 5-10, 2012 focused on the conduct of an Internal Security Operation (ISO) Planning, Mission Analysis, Course of Action (COA) Development/Staff Estimates, Mission Analysis Briefing, COA Briefing, COA Analysis/Comparison and Decision Briefing.
The objective of the mission was to provide an appropriate support requirement in order to ensure the successful campaign planning of the members of the AFPCGSC CL-55 and faculty within the WESCOM area.
The Joint and Combined Phase’s Immersion is an exercise in strategic and operational levels of war providing experiential learning through campaign planning exercises focusing on internal security and a dynamic interaction with the military commanders and staff actually in the operational area with the latter validating the applicability of planning tools required from the school.
In addition, this also supports officer-professional military policy objectives and the exercise itself aimed to develop the ability of the student-officers to formulate sound joint operational plan.
Indeed the visit of the student-officers of the AFPCGSC CL-55 will ensure the AFP of competent and reliable commanders in the near future. (6CRGAFP/RVC-PIA9 ZBST)
