PNRC leads 'Undas' volunteers

PAGADIAN CITY, Nov. 2 (PIA) -– To assist thousands of visitors in the city’s cemeteries, the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) in coordination with the City Health Office (CHO), Organized Radio Assistance Communication Information Services (ORACIS), and the Pagadian Emergency Communication System (PECOMS) has established a 24-hr command post in the public cemetery and memorial parks during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on November 1-2.
ZamboSur PNRC administrator Hildaliza Munoz said in every observance of these religious traditions, these agencies are setting up command posts to respond to emergency situations within the perimeter of the cemeteries.
Munoz said the centers are manned by paramedics from the CHO and radio enthusiasts who are ready to deliver immediate health services to the public who visit the tomb of their departed loved ones at the cemeteries.
“We have stand-by personnel , 3 units of ambulance vehicles, wheel chairs and other first-aid equipments ready to respond to emergency situations , Munoz said.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has put up police assistance desk in the opposite side of PNRC command post to render assistance to motorists, pedestrians and to people visiting their loved ones. (ALT/GCC/PIA9-Pagadian)
