ISABELA CITY, Basilan, July 12 (PIA) – Radio anchors and reporters of Nutriskwela Radyo Komunidad took some time off the air to undergo a four-day refresher training on Nutriskwela community radio broadcasting on July 6-9 held at the United Evangelical Church of Isabela (UECI).

Some 30 anchors, reporters, and students of the only local radio station in Isabela City participated in the training aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of radio station personnel and members of the Community Radio Council to improve operations and management.

Katherine Villanueva of the National Nutrition Council (NNC) was thankful for the warm hospitality that the management has extended to them, especially to the Tan Family of UECI. NNC also partnered with MQ MediaZone in the conduct of the training.

“The DXNO Radyo Komunidad is already six years in operation and during the training we have seen its journey through those years. The NNC is very grateful to our local partners for sustaining and supporting the community radio, and we are looking forward to more collaboration in support to nutrition programs and activities,” she said.

“We are hoping that with your help, we can fully realize the purpose of the radio station,” she said.

There are about 11 other nutriskwela stations that the NNC and its team will have to visit. Villanueva takes pride of bringing along with her the rich experience of the training and the many best practices of DXNO that she could share to others.

Various inputs and workshops were handled by media experts, to include Andy T. Vital, Francis J. Flores, Ricky Siwagan, Mackay V. Quadra, Mario C. Garcia, and Louie N.
