Regional Festival of Talents winners bared
PAGADIAN CITY – Two contestants from the Zamboanga City schools division have emerged as champions in the population quiz (POPQUIZ) show and poster making contest during the Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT) held recently at the Department of Education (DepEd)-9 regional office at Barangay Tiguma this city.
Arrabon L. Toribio of Maria Clara Lorenzo Lobregat National High School in Divisoria, Zamboanga City, and Shamy Rasma C. Jailani of the Western Mindanao State University High School Laboratory were declared champions in the POPQUIZ show and poster making contest, respectively, both representing the Zamboanga City schools division.
The POPQUIZ, essay writing, poster making and jingle writing/singing contests were participated in by seven seven schools divisions of Zamboanga City, Dapitan City, Dipolog City Pagadian City, Isabela City, and Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboangadel Norte.
Isabela City Division, represented by Rhanz Quasneer O. Kanlon of Basilan National High School wonsecond place in the POPQUIZ while Danica Jane U. Barrera of the same school, bagged first place in the jingle writing and singing contest. Tony C. Onggocan of Sindangan National High School, representing the Zamboanga del Norte schools division was declared champion in the essay writing competition.
Cash prizes for the winners were provided by the Commission on Population (POPCOM)-9.
All regional winners will represent the region in the National Festival of Talents to be held this year in General Santos City.
POPCOM 9 will again extend technical assistance through provision of review materials, orientation as well as tips for the national level contests. (FPG/POPCOM-9)
