CITY - The Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Police Office recently
received 25 units of brand new patrol jeeps from the Philippine National
Police(PNP) Regional Office 9.
In a simple turnover and blessing ceremony
held in front of the Provincial Library Thursday, Sept. 4, PNP-9 Regional
Director Miguel C. Antonio Jr.presented 25 units of brand new Mahindra patrol
jeeps to Zamboanga del Norte PNP DirectorPSSupt.RedentorRetusto,for the 25
municipalities of the province.
After the vehicles were blessed by Reverend
Father Cesar Tinga, the new patrol jeeps were also turned-over to the chiefs of
police of the different municipal police stations.
Gov. Roberto Uy said the new patrol jeeps
could help a lot in the campaign against lawless and criminal elements and in
the maintenance of peace and order in the province.
The good governor thanked DILG 9 Regional
Director PaizalAbutazil, especially DILG Sec. Mar Roxas for heeding to their
appeal as he cited the importance of the patrol jeeps in the maintenance of
peace and order in Zamboanga del Norte.
The new patrol jeeps are intended for the
municipalities of Sergio Osmena, Sibutad, La Libertad, Pinan, Polanco,
Mutia, Rizal, Katipunan, Roxas, Manukan, Jose Dalman, Sindangan, Siayan, Leon
Postigo, Salug, Liloy, Godod, Kalawit, Labason, Tampilisan, Gutalac, Siocon,
Baliguian, and Sibuco.
La Libertad Mayor Romeo Mejias, on other
hand said the new patrol jeeps will be of great help in his municipality not
only in the maintenance of peace and order but also to respond to the calls for
assistance fromresidents of far-flung barangays in times of
emergency.
