LABASON,
Zamboanga del Norte - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)
and the Philippine Overseas Employment Authority (POEA) of region 9 in
partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of this town held
a two-day job fair in front of the legislative building here last Jan. 20-21.
Executive
Assistant Abundio Puro told the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) that the
job fair, which was one of the highlights of the 2015 Linggo ng Labason
celebration, aimed to provide opportunity to the local residents who were
seeking employment here and abroad.
Seven
recruitment agencies from the cities of Manila, Dipolog, Zamboanga and Cebu
turned up to conduct interviews and screening of the applicants.
These
were Al-alamia International Manpower Services, Mivian International Manpower
Aggregate Inc, M.H.D. Manpower & Human Development Inc., MMML Recruitment
Services, Inc., Mother’s Way Overseas Manpower Specialist; Work Group
International Manpower Services Inc. and Zontar Manpower Service, Inc.
POEA-9
Officer-In-Charge Marietta Belotindos disclosed that the participating agencies
were looking for civil engineers, electrical engineers, laborer, domestic
helpers and medical workers for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, United Arab
Emirates and Qatar.
On
the other hand, DOLE-Zamboanga del Norte officer-in-charge Aileen Mondejar
together with the town’s first lady, Dhalia Quimbo, distributed some “Pangkabuhayan
starter kits” to 20 skilled carpenters and masons who are 4P’s beneficiaries
from the 20 barangays of the municipality.
