DILG Sec. Roxas graces Saulog Celebration

Dipolog City - The first Saulog Festival 2014 that  signals the start of the 62nd Founding Anniversary celebration of Zamboanga del Norte formally opens today with Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas as guest speaker.

Sec. Roxas, together with DILG-9 Regional Director Faizal Abutazil was welcomed by the officials of the Provincial Government led by Governor Roberto Y. Uy, Second District Representative Rosendo Labadlabad, Third District Rep. Isagani Amatong, Dipolog City Mayor Evelyn T. Uy and the mayors and Sangguniang Bayan members of the different municipalities of the province, barangay officials of Dipolog City, PNP, BFP, BJMP, and DepEd.

Governor Uy, in his welcome message, thanked the DILG Secretary for taking time to grace the opening of the Saulog celebration amidst his hectic schedule.

In his message during, Sec. Roxas thanked the Zanorteans for the warm welcome they have extended to him and for allowing Governor Uy lead the province to implement the appropriate programs needed by its people.

Amatong urged the people to continue supporting the present administration to sustain the development implemented by the Aquino government. He reiterated the untarnished record of the Roxas family in the field of public service.

On the other hand, Labad-labad stressed the value of good governance for the country’s development.
