IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay – All is ready for the weeklong celebration commemorating the founding anniversary of Zamboanga Sibugay on Feb. 20-26, said Governor Wilter Y. Palma in a meeting held yesterday at the Governor’s Office here with the press and civil society groups.
A motorcade to be followed by a Thanksgiving Mass will held on the opening day with the offices of the provincial government, Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), national government agencies (NGAs), non-government organizations (NGOs), municipalities and civil society groups as participants.
The different activities lined up for the event include agri-trade-tourism fair, sports fest, drum corps competitions, rubber summit, land title distribution and the search for Binibining Sibugay 2014.
The agri-trade fair and the sports fest featuring an invitational volleyball tournament will commence on the opening day, Feb. 20.
The rubber summit will be held on the second day together with the jobs fair, medical and dental outreach, and the talent night of the Bb. Sibugay pageant.
The gala night for the Bb. Sibugay 2014 will be on Feb. 23 with motocross in the morning.
Land title distribution will be conducted on Feb. 25, and on Feb. 26, a 1.5-km boodle festival will be held with Sibugay’s 2nd district Representative Ann K. Hofer.
Most of the activities will be conducted on the Provincial Capitol Grounds, Ipil Heights, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
