DIPOLOG CITY - The 162nd Tzu Chi Medical and Surgical Outreach Mission is slated to be held on Aug. 8-11, 2013 in Dipolog City at the Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center.

Tzu Chi International Medical Association (TIMA) will be extending its free medical services to those suffering from goiter and other diseases requiring surgery.

The group will be also conducting Hernia repair, Hydrocoele and Varicoele for all ages subject, however, to doctor’s recommendation.

TIMA is an organized global service network of licensed doctors and nurses who serve as volunteers, giving free consultations and medical surgery to poor patients.

It is the organization’s vision to continue to motivate the great healers or doctors, and angels in white or nurses to truly work for the people.
On July 1 to 15, there will be a Medical Case Identification (MCI) and screening of patients to be conducted by Zamboanga City Medical Center surgeons.
Only 100 qualified patients may avail of the said free surgical services.
On June 28, the pre-operative laboratory test for those aged 35 years old and above like CBC, FBS, EHG and chest x-ray for cardio-pulmonary clearance will be conducted.

Those who will pass the screening are urged to have their admission to the Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center on Aug. 8 which is also the arrival date of TIMA volunteers from Manila.

It is required that the patients be accompanied by adults/watchers to assist and take care of them before and after operation. (PIA9)
