Lady solon sets high hopes for Zambo Sibugay Province

By Alma L. Tingcang
IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay - “I’m happy to be back because it is my pleasure to serve you and watch Zamboanga Sibugay bounce back to progress,” so declared Congresswoman Dulce Ann K. Hofer of Sibugay’s second district.

Hofer, daughter of former governor George T. Hofer who is considered the father of Zamboanga Sibugay, has started working long before her assumption to office for the good of the Sibugaynons.

She went on to clarify that contrary to what her detractors say, when her father lost in the 2010 elections, the older Hofer had turned-over to DILG on June 30, 2010 , P203 million  cash, savings of P130 million  and total assets of 1.125 billion, emphasizing the fact that Zamboanga Sibugay  was financially healthy when he left the capitol.

She laid out her plans for the province and her legislative agenda would center on  health and hospital services, agriculture, aquaculture, education, environment, farm-to-market roads, and irrigation facilities and many others.

Hofer intends to revive the longest Talaba Festival by February next year and focus on the production of high-value marine products such as prawn and crabs as well as the thriving rubber industry in Sibugay.

Not to be left out, Congresswoman Hofer has also worked out for scholarship programs for the youth “because education is close to her heart,” as she was a teacher before becoming a legislator.

“I will carry on the legacy of my parents and look forward to a bright future full of hope. I will work hard to realize our dreams for our beloved Zamboanga Sibugay,” Hofer said. She rallied Sibugaynons to unite and work together to bring progress and development to the province.

The lady solon also acknowledged the dedication and commitment of every Sibugaynon for without them, the people’s votes would not have been protected courageously. “To all of you I dedicate my renewed service in congress. Most of all, I thank the Almighty God because He has fought our battles and victory was truly God’s intervention. (PIA9)
