DIPOLOG CITY - In recognition of its contribution to the successful implementation of the Alternative Learning system (ALS), the Dapitan City Parole and Probation Office (DCPPO) has recently been awarded with a Plaque of Commendation by the Department of Education (DepEd) as one of this year’s ALS Champions.

DCPPO Chief Ma. Jeanette Requina has received the award from Schools Division Superintendent Teresita Cascolan in a simple ceremony attended by all school administrators at the Gabaldon Building, Dapitan City Schools Division Office last June 27.

The said award was part of the national search for Outstanding ALS Stakeholders
in every district of the division, requiring all district ALS coordinators and mobile teachers to make write-ups about their stakeholders and supporters, subject for review and evaluation by the Regional Panel of Judges before submitting the same to DepEd Central office for final evaluation and judgment.

In his write-up, Mr. Noli Paguigui, Barcelona Schools District Mobile Teacher I, gave emphasis on the allout support extended by the City Parole and Probation Office to the ALS programs and projects.

Aside from its strong support to the program and close monitoring of its client learners enrolled in the ALS program, DCPPO was also instrumental in providing financial and technical resources such as the learning session venues and instructional materials needed for the literacy and Accreditation and Equivalency sessions for the parolees and probationers.

According to Requina, 11 probationers from DCPPO, consisting of 9 students in the elementary level and 2 in the secondary level were among the recent graduates of the ALS program in Dapitan City. (PIA9)
