ZAMBOANGA CITY,
February 9 - - - The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. 9
(DOLE-9) was adjudged as the 2011 Best Regional Office under Level III category
during the 2012 Year-End Performance Assessment (YEPA) and 2013 Corplanning
Exercises held on February 6-8, 2013 at Marco Polo Hotel, Cebu City.
DOLE Secretary
Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz personally awarded the plaque of recognition and a
cash incentive amounting to P40,000 to DOLE-9 Regional Director Sisinio B. Cano
during the awarding ceremony held last February 7, 2013.
Director Cano said
that the recent victory is a manifestation of hardwork and dedicated service of
the men and women of DOLE-9 and the intermediaries such as the Tripartite
Industrial Peace Council, Industry Tripartite Council, Public Employment
Service Office, Career Guidance Network, ZamPen Occupational Safety and Health
Network, and ZamPen Family Welfare Committees.

B. Brimon of the Human Resource Development Service of DOLE and member of the
Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) disclosed that
DOLE-9 bested other regional offices under the level III category for attaining
the former’s targets set in the Office Performance Contract and for initiating
local initiatives such as the “Kurambos” Project and the “One Locality, One
Industry, One Service Quality” or 3Y Project that have created impact to and
transformed the lives of the beneficiaries.

added that the plus points garnered by DOLE-9 were on the efficient and
effective implementation of the said locally-initiated projects which generated
