OWWA gears up for OFW Family Day

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Dec. 11 -- The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) will celebrate “OFW FAMILY DAY” this month as a tribute to our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families for their contribution to the economic growth of the country.

For Region 9, the event is scheduled on Saturday, 15 December 2012, 1 p.m. at the Dr. Juanito Bruno Gymnasium, Western Mindanao State University, this city.

In a statement, Regional Director Hassan Jumdain said “We are inviting all OFWs whether they are active or inactive OFWs. This year we have lined up several activities for the conduct of the said event and we hope that we can gather all OFW families during the yuletide season.”

“Admission is free. We don’t require any entrance fee. A pre-registration is now going on at our office located at the 4th floor, BGIDC Corporate Center, Gov. Lim Ave,” he added.

The celebration which will gather more or less a thousand of OFWs & their dependents will also be participated by different government agencies and private entities. While games and raffle prizes await lucky families. (Mary Jane R. Amarado, LCO/OWWA9/PIA9/alt)
