OFW Help Desk launched in R.T. Lim

Zamboanga City, December 4 - - The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is set to establish today an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Help Desk in   Roseller Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay Province.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) will be signed between the municipal government represented by Mayor Michael A. Pioneda and OWWA-9 Regional Director Hassan Gabra T. Jumdain today, December 4, 2012 during the Job Fair 2012 at the R.T. Lim municipal gymnasium.

In a statement, Director Jumdain revealed that the help desk will provide the clients with information, education and communication (IEC) materials and assistance on how to avail themselves of OWWA programs and services. This will be made available to clients who will visit the desk.

Such services include social benefits (disability and dismemberment, death and burial benefits), scholarship, trainings, and incentive programs, workers welfare assistance program (on-site & in-country), and repatriation & reintegration programs.
 
OWWA will regularly coordinate with OFW help desk officers and the municipal government through a desk officer and conduct orientation activities for them regarding OWWA programs and services. (MRA, LCO/OWWA9/PIA9/alt)
