Gov. Dimaporo accorded military honors for IPSP support

PAGADIAN CITY, October 10 (PIA) –- The 1st Infantry Tabak Division, Philippine Army lauded Lanao del Norte Governor Mohammad Khalid Q. Dimaporo for actively supporting the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP) in achieving lasting peace, security and economic development.

A testimonial parade and review in honor of Dimaporo was conducted on Friday, October 5 by the command at the parade grounds, Camp Major Cesar Sang-an, Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

“Our sincere thanks to all stakeholders for their significant and indispensable role in achieving lasting peace.  Today’s event is an opportunity of the command to express utmost gratitude to one of our stakeholders whom we are giving full military honors,” Cruz announced.
 
Cruz in his message said the success of the IPSP campaign of the command is not just for the Tabak troopers alone but for the local officials and civilians as well.

The 32 year-old Dimaporo, an economist, agriculturist and businessman was lauded for being a strong advocate of peace and good governance in his province. He was the fourth local chief executive who was accorded full military honors. The first was  Zamboanga del Norte Governor Rolando E. Yebes, second was  Zamboanga Sibugay Governor Rommel A. Jalosjos, and lately, Governor Antonio H. Cerilles.     

Dimaporo was cited for his remarkable achievements and outstanding contribution to the peace building efforts  by  doing inter-agency convergence, health and civic action programs, environmental protection and conservation programs.
