Ecolink Phils, DILG, PNP join the nation in mourning and tribute of late Sec. Robredo

PAGADIAN CITY – As the nation mourns the loss of Interior and Local Gov’t Secretary Jesse Robredo, the Ecolink Philippines , a leading Civil Society Organization in Mindanao that promotes good governance, social accountability, and anti-corruption campaign in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and PNP  on Thursday evening,  conducted a candle lighting ceremony in front of Jose Rizal monument, city complex here.

The ceremony which was started at 6 pm was attended by the members of Ecolink Phils, PNP, municipal local government operation officers, students, and civic organizations.

Ecolink Philippines Executive Secretary Faye Reyes said , the organization has partnered with DILG in the implementation of Bantay Red Plate, LGU Fleet  Management Project, Governance and Social accountability similar to the dream of the late Secretary Robredo.

Reyes said the untimely demise of Robredo was a big loss to us and something which would be very difficult for the nation to accept because the  nation truly believes that good governance is through transparency, integrity and accountability of the government officials and citizens in which he strongly founded.  “The nation lost a great man and a passionate advocate of good governance,” Reyes said.

“The candle lighting ceremony was a gesture of unity in acknowledging the contributions of Sec. Robredo who tirelessly worked and contributed greatly to President Aquino's campaign for good governance as a means to improve the lives of our countrymen,” Reyes explained.  (GCC/PIA9-Zambosur)
