PAGADIAN CITY, August 15 (PIA) –In a bid to improve health services, the Local Government of Pagadian City in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Wednesday has officially inaugurated the P13.3Million, 2-storey City Health Office (CHO) building at the city government complex here.

City health officer Dr. Noel Ceniza said the construction of the new CHO building was made possible thru the collaborative efforts of the LGU, DOH, and DPWH.

Ceniza said the LGU thru mayor Samuel S. Co contributed P6,250,000, Secretary Enrique T. Ona thru DOH P4,245,680.39, Senator TJ Guingona thru DPWH- 2,816,764.83. The building has a total cost of 13,312,245.22 .

Ceniza said “ the building is equipped with comfortable consultation, delivery, laboratory, and labor rooms.”

“I am thankful that Mayor Co implemented this project “ Ceniza was quoted as  saying.

“It was the chief executive’s dream to build a bigger and wider office to better serve its clients,” he added.

Ceniza, who at the same time chairman of the pre-marriage counseling core group, said he proposed to the chief executive that the city population office (CPO) will be accommodated in a spacious room at the second floor for the CPO to have a permanent venue of the pre-marriage counseling seminar.

Meanhile, city population officer Rodita Caseñas said the plan of transfer to the new CHO building to her is a welcome development.

“ I am happy that the CHO has shown concern  in our office. With this development, we will no longer have a problem in accommodating the pre-marriage counseling participants,” Caseñas said saying that it has been a long time problem of their office of finding a permanent venue for the seminar.

“We can now deliver our services to the clients comfortably,” Caseñas said. (JPA/GCC/PIA9-Zambosur)
