VINCENZO SAGUN, Zamboanga del Sur, March 28 - - - The municipality of Vincenzo Sagun launched its official newsletter recently during the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Fair held on March 20, 2012.
Mayor Edilberto S. Adlaon turned-over some copies of the newsletter “Pulso sa Vincenzo,” a monthly publication of the local government unit, to Philippine Information Agency IX (PIA9) Regional Director Noemi B. Edaga.
The launching of the LGU newsletter was an offshoot of the training sponsored by the PIA and Mindanao Communicators Network (MindaComNet) last year attended by Ms. Meriline B. Locson, Municipal Planning and Development Officer, who was also designated as Information Officer by Mayor Adlaon.
RD Edaga in her inspirational message congratulated the local officials and employees for coming up with the first municipal newsletter published after the training held in Dakak Park with information officers of local government units and national government agencies.
“I am so happy with this development. Rest assured PIA will always be here to support you,” she said.
“I would like to say that now, we are able to see developments, we have products of the training from various government agencies like DOST, TESDA and DTI among others,” she declared. RD Edaga encouraged them to continue promoting their tourist destinations such as Ambulon Beach and Triton Island with its pristine beauty and fine white sand and exhorted them to take care of the environment so that we will not suffer from the ill-effects of wanton abuse and neglect.
She likewise discussed the thrusts of the national government namely: Human Development, Climate Change, Economic Development, Good Governance, Security, Justice and Peace. (ALT/PIA9-Zambo Sur)
