ISABELA CITY, Basilan, Mar 6 (PIA) – The Provincial Government last week welcomed the arrival of officials and participants to the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) 2012, which Tawi-Tawi is hosting for the first time.

On Thursday morning (Mar 1), the PRISAA kicked off with a sports parade and lighting of the torch was done at the DEPED ground to signal the official opening of the sports competition among the participating colleges of the ARMM Region.
Vice Governor Sahali delivered the message of Governor Sadikul Sahali, which warmly welcomed the members of the delegations from the ARMM provinces and Marawi City.
Sahali said that the peace-loving people of Tawi-Tawi are highly honored by the CHED –ARMM’s choice of the province as a venue for this year’s prestigious PRISAA, at the same time, the governor also commended Mahardika Institute of Technology (MIT) for graciously hosting this athletic competition.
Sahali emphasized that that sports development is a priority program of the provincial governance, and for this, “we believe that the holding of the 2012 PRISAA regional games here lend a positive impact on our sports development program.”
In closing, the governor’s message reiterated that “While winning is important but how well you play the game according to rules of sportsmanship is most laudable and appreciated.”

On the other hand, CHED-ARMM Managing Commissioner, Dr. Norma Sharief, bestowed Plaques of Appreciation to Vice Governor Ruby Sahali, Hadji Sambas Hassan, MIT president, Bongao Mayor Jasper Que, and many others, as manifestation of gratitude for hosting the PRISAA 2012. (ANT/RVC-PIA9 ZBST)
