Intellectual property seminar slated for ZamPen SMEs

ZABOANGA CITY, March 6 - - - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in partnership with the Intellectual Property Office-Philippines (IPOPHL) will conduct a basic orientation seminar on intellectual property on March 9, 2012 at the National Economic Research and Business Assistance Center (NERBAC-9), 3rd Floor, VHW Bldg., Veterans Avenue, Zamboanga City.

NERBAC-9 Center Coordinator Herminia B. Cuevas said that the seminar targets the region’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) particularly the prospective intellectual property (IP) applicants and those with pending application for patent, industrial design, utility model, and trademark.

The one-day seminar will start with a brief orientation on the IP registration process in the Philippines to be followed immediately with a one-on-one consultation for those local SMEs with pending industrial and patent application at the IPOPHL or at NERBAC-9.

It will be facilitated by Ms. Rose Fernandez, IPO-PHL Satellite Offices Area Manager for Mindanao.

The seminar is free according to Cuevas but reservation is on a first come, first served basis.
