PAGADIAN CITY, January 30 (PIA) – Feeling of excitement were felt both by parents and children in availing the Department of Education’s (DepEd) simultaneous nationwide one (1) day early registration day on Saturday.
Parents who brought along with them their children, presented their certificates of live birth and other documents to the teachers to make sure that their children will be registered prior to the opening of school year 2012-2013 on June this year.
Gemma Ubas of barangay Banale, with her 5 year old daughter Krisha Mae went on time to register her as pre-schooler at Balangasan central elementary school (BCES).
Banale is a neighboring barangay of Balangasan, where the BCES has long been existed.
“Hinam na kaayo siya (Krisha Mae) nga magpa-rehistro, gani mimata siya alas 4:00 sa buntag kay mokuyog na nako siya sa eskwelahan(She was excited to register, in fact she woke up at 4 am to go with me at the school),” Gemma said.
Gemma said she already bought a bag, paper and pencil for Krisha since she manifested her desire to study in a pre-school adding that
she kept on writing the basic ‘A,B,C,D and other letters in the alphabet.
Jojet Hermoso still of Banale, with his 6 year-old son Gamail Nimrod were in hurry to register at the said school.
“Nagdali mi pag-anhi sa eskwelahan uban sa pagtuo nga magpaabot mi sa taas nga linya sa mga tawo tungod kay usa lamang ka adlaw ang gitagana sa DepEd pagpahigayon sa ERD( We were in hurry to be in the school with the expectation that people will wait for a long queue because DepEd has allotted only one (1) day for the ERD), Hermoso said.
Hermoso thanked the DepEd for launching the ERD saying that with the program of the government especially the “Education for All” will be finally achieved and literacy problem in schools will properly addressed. (JPA/GCC/PIA9-Pagadian)
