ZSPPO raises funds for flood victims

PAGADIAN CITY, December 24 (PIA) -- The Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO) on Friday expressed full cooperation with the government’s initiatives in supporting flood victims in the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan dubbed “‘Operation Tabang Para sa mga Biktma ng Bagyong Sendong”.
Provincial director Sr. Supt. Jose Bayani L. Gucela said he encouraged his station commanders and men to voluntarily contribute an amount to donate for the victims.
“I have instructed the station commanders to collect P100 from each of the 1,069 PNP members in the province to provide relief and support funds to typhoon ‘Sendong ravaged-areas in Mindanao particularly in the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan ,” Gucela said.
Gucela said he is expecting to collect an initial figure of P106,900.
Aside from the financial assistance, Gucela said he asked them to donate any of the following items: kitchen utensils, mats, beds, canned foods and bottled water. He said these are the supplies urgently needed by the victims.
Gucela also appealed to those who wish to help the victims to give their donations in cash or in kind at the relief operations center at the PNP headquarters, Lumbia district.
After we are done with our campaign, we will send the donations immediately to the victims in the evacuation centers in CDO and Iligan, Gucela said.(NBE/GCC/PIA9-Pagadian)
