ZAMSURECO I, bringing its services closer to the people

By Alma L. Tingcang

PAGADIAN CITY, December 6 (PIA) - - “Innovation of our website is ongoing and very soon, you can check your electricity bills online.” This assurance came from ZAMSURECO I General Manager Jose Raul M. Saniel in a press conference held over the weekend.

Sensitive to the needs of member-consumers and in keeping with modern technology, GM Saniel said bills could soon be checked on your phones, adding that online application for membership is now available at their website and anyone can inquire about the requirements.

ZAMSURECO I is already implementing consumer information management (CIM)  system. Almost all power operations actually are already online. “I could probably be wrong, but  in terms of information technology application in our operations, we are no. 1 in the electric coops all over the country. In fact, last year we were awarded as “Best in ICT application,” Saniel proudly announced.

With the CIM system, all requirements of the Energy Regulatory Commission, service standards, customer complaints and other pertinent data are available online.

“It would only take two days, if all requirements are complied, in two days time, you will have a connection. As to complaints from member-consumer, it will be addressed in a maximum of 4 hours except far-flung areas. Bottomline is, we are bringing the services of ZAMSURECO I closer to the people,” GM Saniel said.

He related that in a workshop he attended in Cebu which was conducted by the Department of Energy last September, President Benigno Aquino III himself said that he is strongly supporting the sitio electrification program.

In fulfillment of the president’s social contract with the people, the government will commit P2 billion next year and the succeeding years until his term ends. The target is to electrify all sitios and puroks in the country.

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has already released the initial  amount of more than P 800 Million for the sitio electrification program which will be undertaken by the National Electrification Administration, Department of Energy and the DBM.

“The nationwide target is to energize 1,411 sitios. ZAMSURECO I also gave its commitment and presently, energization of 24 sitios/puroks is 90% completed, so we will be able to meet the deadline which is December 15,” Saniel reported.

He called on the media for assistance since we do not have a comprehensive database of the sitios/puroks and urged local government units to furnish them with a list so ZAMSURECO I could immediately survey the area and submit the pertinent documents to NEA for evaluation.

Saniel made this appeal to the tri-media so that sitios/puroks not energized will be properly identified and government funds intended for electrification will not be wasted, but instead, will be used for its intended purpose. (ALT-PIA9/Zambo Sur)
