ZAMBOANGA CITY, Dec. 12 (PIA 9) – - The city government through the City Administrators Office reminds adult carolers to secure a permit first at the City Hall before they can conduct caroling activities this yuletide season.
City Information Officer (IO) Sheila Covarrubias said big organizations, civic and other organized groups that intend to do caroling activities this Christmas season should get permits from the local government.
“The policy is intended to discourage syndicates and money-making activities,” said Covarrubias.
“An applicant of for caroling permit should present a letter of request in securing the permit,” she explained.
Covarrubias said the permit is free of charge “but authorities have to determined the exact objective of the proposed caroling activities.”
The lady IO further said “in the case of the children carolers, no permit is required.”
Covarrubias informed that as of Dec. 8, the City Administrator’s Office has approved the application 0f 10 groups to conduct caroling activities this Christmas.
Caroling starts Dec. 16 until Dec. 24.
Covarrubias said the city has been implementing this policy for years now with the purpose of discouraging syndicates. (JPA/CIO/ PIA9)
