PDEA-Zam Norte conducts drug test to RTMI drivers

DIPOLOG CITY, NOV. 2(PIA)--- The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Zamboanga del Norte, in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Crime Laboratory Office has recently conducted a surprise random drug testing to some 30 drivers of the Rural Transit in Mindanao, Incorporated (RTMI).
Intelligence Officer II Jury G. Rocamora, PDEA-Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Drug Enforcement Officer said, the joint activity was in compliance to the verbal instruction from the PDEA Regional Office, based in Zamboanga City to intensify its anti-drug operations in the province.
It maybe recalled that despite repeated warning from PDEA, some RTMI drivers were still caught carrying illegal drugs, specifically shabu.
Earlier, Edgar Quintana, RTMI investigator disclosed that as of press time, 3 drivers have been terminated from service after they have been found to be involve in the transport of illegal drugs.
According to Agent Rocamora, the examined urine samples will still be sent to Zamboanga City for confirmation.
The drug test which lasted until 5 o’clock in the afternoon, was conducted at the Dipolog City Integrated Bus Terminal, in Miputak, Dipolog City LAST Monday, October 31, 2011. (JPA/ATR/PIA9-Zambo Norte)
