The city government thru the city tourism will once again conduct an annual lighted Christmas decor contest to delight and fill the people with holiday spirit.
Lighted Chritmas decor contest committee chair Engr. Nellie L. Sisona said the committee in its meeting over the weekend has approved the total cash prizes for the contest which amounted to P318,000 and the additional participation from the private sector.
Sisona said the committee has decided to increase P10,000 of the five (5) major prizes and P3,000 for the consolation prizes saying that the prices of commodities nowadays have increased.
“This years’ lighted Christmas decor contest has the following prizes: P80,000, champion; first runner-up, 60,000; second runner-up, 40,000; third runner-up, 30,000; fourth runner-up, 20,000; and 8,000 each for the consolation prizes. All major winners will also received trophies,” Sisona announced.
This years’ participants, Sisona said will be more encouraged to participate because we have increased the prizes.

“We welcomed the participation of Best Emporium, Telecommunications’ office, Globe and Sun Cellular companies which have increased the total number of participants,” Sisona said.
Sisona said an added attraction in the activity will be the 45-minute water fountain display to be played twice every night to entertain people of all ages.
